Dear Family,

Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn. After years of contemplating a move to the Oregon Coast after retirement, we have decided to sell our land and move to Boise. Thinking about our future, and aging, we realized the importance of family, and the numerous conveniences of a city (a small city). As beautiful a place as the Oregon Coast is, it is also isolated – basically out in the middle of nowhere -- 20 min. to the nearest town, an hour to the nearest city. We’ll miss the scenery, the trees, and our nice neighbors. But, we are definitely looking forward to moving closer to Lucy and her family, and building our dream house in Idaho. There’s also a major airport (a short flight to see Finn), or a day’s drive to Seattle, and only five hours to SLC. And there are many hiking and biking trails. The weather is mild– nothing too extreme, with four seasons. And we should be able to get Stephanie enrolled in some sort of assisted work program for the disabled. Anyway, our reasons are many and we feel we’ve made the right decision for us and our future.

We have been looking at new house plans and will be checking out the Boise area at the end of this week. Our land is on the market. If you’re interested or know anyone that is, it’s MLS-125-2515. So, we still have at least a year before we move.

Steve’s official retirement date is April 30 – but he is on vacation from now until then – so yeah, he’s retired!!

Finn is five months old! He is growing so fast – already has two teeth! Steve and I are here in Seattle now for a couple of days before we head down to Boise. So we get to care for Finn while Ammon and Ang are at work. Now....if we can just get Ammon and Ang to move to Boise....:)
