Viel Grüße!
Sharron & I are immersed in the work here in Germany.  We are very happy to be part of history in the great missionary surge now taking place with over 80,000 missionaries world wide.
Our specific mission is working with the YSA's in the Nürnberg Stake.  Our on going goal is to visit every Ward (8) and Branch (3) in the Stake.  After our Sunday visit in Regensberg, we will only have Schweinfurt, Grafenwöhr & Bayreuth left to visit.  Our base is Nürnberg.  We live here and also support a weekly home evening for singles & Institute night, complete with dinner prep every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
We are also involved in member/leader support, as we try to visit and strengthen the active, less-active, and part member families.  I've also been called on the Stake High Council & visit the Ansbach Ward every third Sunday to Speak and counsel with the Priesthood Quorums & Groups.  Our travels to the other Wards & Branches also give us a chance to speak & bare our testimonies.
Additional assignments are given & filled best we know how.  For example, last week we were asked by the Stake President to take charge of the Stake BBQ/Dance in Erlangen 18 Oct.
The individual previously assigned bailed at the last minute.   We will do our best to pull it off & offer a social that will hopefully help others to draw closer to the church.  On 3 Nov. we will prep for a YSA dinner & fireside in conjunction with their Stake Conference.  Than in Dec. we are planning a service project at a rest home with the YSA's to sing carols & paint toe nails.  Should be fun.
It's been great to be back here where we served on missions together some 44 years ago now.  Much has changed.  Missionary Apt. Standards for one.  Much improved.  Also, more time spent in study, planning and more effective teaching by the Spirit.  We have our work cut out for us.  277 YSA's on Stake list.  Approx. 35+ active and approx. 12-15 that regularly attend their Institute classes.  We have three CES/Institute Centers; 1.Nürnberg, 2. Würzburg, 3. Coburg.
Well, that's all for now.  Sorry we are late with our quarterly Lingo entry.  Things do get busy.
We hope & pray all is well with you & your families.  Thank for your prayers in our behalf.   May our Heavenly Father continue to bless and keep you safe.
    Love, John & Sharron
