Congratulations Marcus on your mission call!
I enjoyed a beautiful but quick trip to “the valley” yesterday as I went down to hear Bryan perform in the all-state 7th grade band. It was excellent. [He plays French horn.] Next Saturday he goes down again for all-state choir as a bass. He is musically gifted and enjoys it. He is still having a great 7th grade year and plans on track starting tomorrow.
Isaiah played basketball this (Jan/Feb) season, but had to sit out a few games with a cast on his arm. January 16th he was playing with his 9 year-old friend Dylan in the afternoon. Dylan has a four wheeler and they went for a ride…When Dylan’s dad brought Isaiah back he said Isaiah had slipped off the back of the four wheeler and had a band-aid on his wrist where he scraped his arm. Isaiah said it was sore. I had an old arm brace that he wore off and on for a couple of days. Two weeks later, after playing basketball and everything else…I grabbed his wrist and he let out a yelp and said that his arm still hurt. I could feel the lump where the bone was healing. So I took him to the Dr. and sure enough it had been broken. It was healing straight. Dr. put a cast on it for protection. The cast would pose a danger to other basketball players on the court, so he couldn’t play for three weeks. He had a teammate (coach’s son) out with a broken foot at the same time. Isaiah is working on getting those multiplication tables down and especially looks forward to our Lindgren reunion.
James just enjoyed the senior digital media class trip to California . They toured L.A. film school, Universal Studios, Warner Bros., Sony Studio, the Jeopardy show, the beach, and KABC Channel 5. He is working on his final entry for the local Film Wars to be held this week in Snowflake. This will be its third year and James traditionally brings home a trophy. James is also participating in track.
Hyrum started playing around with making a short clip and hopes to enter next year’s film wars contest. He is taking a political science class at the local community college in addition to regular school. He lifts weights regularly and enjoys a game of soccer now and again in the off season. He also enjoys music and is quite good on the piano. He has been playing around on the guitar dad picked up for me at a garage sale in 1979.
Though none of my kids were in it, Bryan and I enjoyed the local high school production of Bye Bye Birdie earlier this month. Snowflake always puts on a great high school musical. The director for the last two has volunteered as the Theater Department was cut. Much talent in this town.
Riley is getting along and entertaining us.

Wow! Two months from now we will be having a high school graduation.
