Dear Family,

Our baby granddaughter, Harper Rose, was born January 2. We are so thrilled to have her. She is such a quiet, good-natured little gal, and already sleeps most of the night. It's so fun to watch all the expressions on her little face. Steve and I went to Seattle this past week and just loved holding her and playing with Finn. He loves his little sister. Finn is a real kick. He is such a character. He loves to help in the kitchen. One day Steve and I took him to the top of the Space Needle. He had been talking about it all week since he can see the Space Needle from his house and on New Year's Eve he watched fireworks explode off the top with his other grandparents while Ammon and Angela were in the hospital. So he was thrilled to go in it. We also took a ride on the monorail and Ammon met us at the end of the line (a short ride), a few minutes walk from his work. Finn says "Papa" and "Granma" and repeats everything you say.

The first night at the hotel our truck got broken into. It was parked in an underground parking garage. Weird thing, nothing was stolen. The alarm must've scared off the intruder. The hotel people were very nice to us -- free breakfast and free parking the rest of the week, and a big discount on the hotel rate, and their insurance paid for the window. Still, it was a hassle -- it was pouring rain, so no waiting around to get it fixed.

Angela had me busy sewing yet another project -- which was great...(baby legs, car seat blanket insert).

I got a new cell phone for Christmas -- takes pictures and texting (has a mini typewriter). We have Verizon, so free talking to anyone that has Verizon. It's awesome, and Ammon says I'm finally moving into the 21st century (with the texting).

We saw Avatar in 3D IMAX. It was fantastic. Really felt like we were there. The technology is amazing.

Things at work has been pretty busy, which is always a good thing.

A big congratulations to Rick and Reba on their 40th wedding anniversary! Also congrats to Ryan and Cheyney on expecting their first baby in June. And congrats to April on her wedding in May.
