Dear Family,

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms.

I hope your families are doing well. We have had some great happenings recently. Kristen's baptism was last week-end. She looked so adorable and seemed so grown up about the whole experience. My mom and Emily and her family came to Boise to join us. All of Dave’s siblings that live in town and his parents also joined us. The Bishop made Kristen feel extra special both on Saturday and Sunday. He is one of Dave’s good friends so I think he took a special liking to Kristen. She wore a beautiful spring dress of blue and green and her hair was braided. She was so excited. She has really been trying to memorize the Articles of Faith so when she was asked to recite number 4 at her own baptism it was not a problem. She had it memorized perfectly. I love that little girl. She is so intelligent and really a delight.

Rachel had cheer tryouts on Thurs & Fri night and continuing to Sat morning. We found out about 1 hour before Kristen’s baptism the try out results. She worked really hard to get her back handspring. Tryouts were a little tense this year because the school district created a new policy that only 40 cheerleaders are allowed on the school squad. That includes Freshman, JV and Varsity. Last year there were 48 cheerleaders and only one graduating senior. In the end 5 of the eleven freshman, and 7 of the old JV squad (was 18) made up the new JV cheer squad of 12 girls. Every one of them can do a back hand spring. Rachel is one of three flyers. We are really proud of her. She has continued to have a great attitude and has felt quite humbled, especially since some of her best friends did not make the squad. We think her grades added to her making it over some of the other girls.

My 12 year old boy is now using the riding lawn mower at his grandpa Yorgason’s house on Sat. He loves to save money for something. This year it is a BYU basketball camp. He is a good kid with a very sensitive heart. He is always kind and polite to me and really respects me. His father has set a good example for him. He has been eager to try all sorts of sports. This time of year is track season and he has been running the 100 meter dash and 400 meter dash. On one of the track meets he came in at the end and my heart hurt for him, but when I saw him he was so excited because he had beaten his own time on that run so he felt great. A friend asked him his score and after hearing it the friends commented that the other boys must have really been blazing because Nathan’s score was fast. I love to see him trying to improve in so many ways. He is on the honor role at Heritage Middle School and he has truly earned it. School does not come easy for him so A’s and B’s are really earned by his effort. He is thoroughly enjoying scouts and loves basketball. He is a good kid.

We were able to do an inexpensive week in Hawaii for spring break. Free flights and hotel stay. We enjoyed the PCC and the beaches so much. We are really warming up this spring so that is nice also. We went to Utah for a day to go to General Conference. That was a first for Kristen and Nathan was able to go to his first priesthood session at the Conf Center with Dave. That was a really quick trip but worth the experience.

We hope to see some of you this summer. Looking forward to catching up on everyones comings and goings. Grandma Lindgren does a good job of keeping me informed on our frequent phone visits. Take Care.
