Hi Lingo Folks,
Fall has now arrived in Georgia and the leaves are beautiful, weather is great. My mom came out and visited during October for Elisabeth's birthday. We had a great time. I hosted her birthday party where each of her guests frosted and decorated their own cake to take home. It was a lot of work and I was up to my eyeballs in cakes and powdered sugar, but it was such fun for the girls to do. We're going to do the same thing for Emilie's birthday this month. My girls just finished cheer leading for flag football. Elisabeth was baptized on November 1st, and we also got to see Wicked that same day. Life is good and happy. I love getting my daily Scrabble fix with the aunts on Facebook! Alexander's grandpa (Justin's dad) just came out and visited and installed a little pond by our front porch for Alexander, so he is thrilled beyond belief!
Just thought I'd share two of my favorite recipes, and that's about all I have to say this time around!

Southern Living Blackberry-Basil Vinaigrette
1/2 (10-ounce) jar seedless blackberry preserves
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
6 fresh basil leaves
1 garlic clove, sliced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon seasoned pepper
3/4 cup vegetable oil
Preparation Pulse blackberry preserves, red wine vinegar, and next 4 ingredients in a blender 2 or 3 times until blended. With blender running, pour vegetable oil through food chute in a slow, steady stream; process until smooth. Great over any type of greens, including spinach. I add feta cheese, pears, and walnuts to my salad and this dressing is the perfect final touch.
Yield Makes 1 cup
Fudge Jumbles From my Ricks College Admissions Office Recipe Book (my college job)

1 c. butter
2 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour
3 cups oatmeal
Mix together. Save 1/3 dough for top. Press other dough in large greased cookie sheet.
Filling:
1 pkg. (12 oz.) real chocolate chips
14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
2 T. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
Cook on low heat -- it scorches easily. When melted, pour on top of dough. Then take remaining 1/3 dough and smash on top.
Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Cut into bars. Best served chilled from fridge or freezer.
