Hi Family,

The newest member of the Hanlon family is now Ryan Slone. He married Krista August 23.  I'm still waiting to see the photographer's pictures but I'll add my favorite of what I took...already posted on facebook.

Just a week before school started on Wed. August 6, Erlend (pronounced like Alan) Øverbø arrived here from Sauland, Norway as a high school exchange student.  He will be with us the entire school year.  His birthday is May 22, 1997.  High school graduation here is May 22.  He is considered a junior because he goes to school 13 years in Norway.  He seems to be having a good time.  

Bryan's latest adventure is with the White Mountain Youth Productions.  They help produce the White Mountain Sports Game of the week (high school football) live stream on www.italk1067.com on Friday nights.  Bryan can be seen and heard as a commentator.  

Isaiah asked if we could go to General Conference again.  We asked our stake if we could get tickets again and at first they said no...they like to spread the opportunity around, but then they told us this week that no one else had asked and it was first come first served, so we could have some.  So we are planning on coming up for that quick weekend.  Bryan will be in Tucson at a soccer tournament. 

Other Hanlon news (just in case they don't share themselves):  Desree and Jesse moved to Kileen, Texas (Fort Hood area).  They are closer to Jesse's three sons.  They seem to like the weather and the school quite well so far and now they are only a 14 hour drive away from me....hmm, might make a trip.  

Sarah has started graduate school (a monthly all day Saturday class) in Battleboro, Vermont...about an hour drive from where she lives, getting a degree in not-for-profit management.  

Krista landed a new full-time job in the billing department of a doctor's office.  

James is in his senior year at ASU.  He enjoyed his month in Korea with young (junior high) students of English. 

Hyrum is receiving his 3rd large scholarship, this one through ROTC Navy, so his needs are well taken care of.  He is loving school and just purchased a car "so he can get his uniform dry-cleaned."

And Isaiah and I are at the junior high and Jim is at the other junior high enjoying what junior high kids do, like nerd day today, Isaiah's class took house cup. 

Had a great 11-yr-old camp at Camp Heber again this year and last week we held a stake Primary Activity for 10 and 11-yr-old girls at Camp Silver Creek.  The girls made gumball necklaces and got to shoot bb guns.  Some went swimming in the creek, and some went hiking.  They made dinner in their ward groups, performed skits and songs for each other and listened to a member of the stake presidency (Pres. Peterson, or as Jeff and Jenny remember him; Doc Peterson)  He talked about treating family members kindly and spending time with your parents so we can be forever families.

I love you all and want to wish Mom a very happy 89th birthday and hope you all enjoy nice Autumn weather.
