Dear Family,

We are enjoying the warmth of summer, and being in the northwest where the sun doesn’t set until 9:30 p.m.  Our gardening is kind of like a roller coaster with its ups and downs.  Some veggies are worth the effort, some are not.  And so much depends on the weather.  It’s tough being a farmer.  I have a greater appreciation for the farmers!

Our newest addition to our family is Cody, born May 4.  He weighed about 6 ounces when he was born. He is a Maltese mix and very loveable.  He lives next door right now, but will come home July 20.  It’s been fun watching him and his littermates as they grow and learn about everything around them.  It is pretty exciting that we’ll be dog owners.  Now that I have the time to actually care for a dog, I’m really looking forward to it.

Next week we’re going on our first cruise.  We’ll be with Princess Cruises on the Alaskan passage, stopping at Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, and Victoria, B.C.  We leave from Seattle.  And we’ll be enjoying this trip with Rick and Reba (the experienced cruise travelers).

Miles at 9 months

Here is Miles at 9 months.  Growing cuter every day.  I miss my grandkids and am really looking forward to their visit in August.
